Today, Christians — ordained and otherwise — rarely venture anywhere near medical topics or say anything about the frequency of malpractice, obscene and covert cost structures, insurance gouging, corruption in health care agencies, and the devastating stranglehold that the big pharm has on medical treatment.
This page will not encroach on any of that, or claim any expertise that requires licensing. Not even to aspire to naturopathy. But it will share information about common sense, OTC and home remedies that you can look into yourself, and it will link to interesting articles that discuss big breakthroughs the mainstream media — dominated by the aforementioned pharm and its conspirators — will not even deign to mention.
Why is a preaching site doing this? Have you noticed how nearly every congregation's list of pastoral concerns is exploding? Have you noticed the drumbeat of turbo-cancer diagnoses and countless other maladies striking people that are too young? And yet no one in any church I have attended in five years has ever publicly uttered the phrase: "vak-seen in-jur-y."
Meanwhile, preaching is a pastoral function, pastoral work derives from shepherding, and shepherding means protecting one's flock. Granted, we are to preaching the Lord Jesus as the Good Shepherd. We are merely his imitators; we are no replacement for him. But we are certainly not to imitate the hired hands who flee in the face of danger.
