How about adding Christians in these countries to your congregation's weekly prayer list?

With fifty more Sundays left in 2012, how about adding your brothers and sisters in these countries where Christians face the most severe persecution to your congregation's weekly prayer list? Perhaps you could not only pray for them, once per week, in the Prayers of the People, but also ask your members and prayer groups to make them the focus of their daily prayers and intercessions each week. (Open Doors is a very worthy organization. Your deacons, missions, and benevolence committees may wish to consider supporting them and to stay informed by way of their unique and courageous ministry.)

"Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters in all the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.  And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.  To him be the power forever and ever. Amen." (1Peter 5:8-11)
